Bringing smiles to faces in our small community since 2011. Both the Hildebrandts and the Harpers are still involved in the business today. The store is locally owned & operated. It is a small business developed by the entire team. "we have an amazing range of talents." What the owners like most is that they aren't a franchise and have the ability to "change and adapt at the drop of a hat." 15 years later, Urban Swirl still serves the same great premium hand-dipped ice cream from Graeter's & the best froyo from Dannon. Continuing the Legacy & Tradition

The Harpers were both raised right here in Mishawaka graduating from Mishawaka High School and then graduating from Purdue University. In 2011 the two dynamite duos (Hildebrandts & Harpers) teamed up to bring you Urban Swirl. A few years later, Harpers started their family and now have daughter, Mackinsie and son, Deuel. Brad Harper still continues to teach and Coach at Penn High School. Chrissy Harper operates Urban Swirl daily and can usually be found stirring up the next best recipe to bring our guests or planning the next fun event. 

 

With life, changes happen! The Hildebrandt's decided in 2026 to take the next step in retirement, leaving their portion of the business to Cory & Paige Hildebrandt. Both Cory & Paige had swirl as their first job back in high school and now they are helping keep the family ice cream business alive. Cory & Paige have 3 kiddos - twins Beckham & Bailey and son Brady. Their kiddos attend Northpoint Elementary and are involved in TONS of activities around our community. If you don't catch handing out free treats in the neighborhood, you might see them at the ballfield with the perfect frozen team snack! 

 

Alongside the Harpers, the Hildebrandt's are excited to continue bringing the Michiana community the BEST ice cream and frozen yogurt around. Together, we are blessed to be a part of the community with our small business and look forward to serving our community for years to come!
